Official Meetings And Discussions
OPSEU/SEFPO stands firmly on the foundation of unity, with core values rooted in respect and dignity for all. We firmly believe in the importance of recognizing and understanding our shared history, and we are committed to creating an environment where no one experiences discrimination or harassment.
To uphold this commitment, we begin every meeting and official discussion by affirming our dedication to respect and acknowledging the land on which we gather.
By starting each gathering with a statement of respect and a land acknowledgement, we reinforce our collective values and demonstrate our commitment to inclusivity and reconciliation. This practice serves as a reminder that we stand together in fostering a culture of understanding, fairness, and justice.
Through these meaningful actions, we create a space where every member can feel seen, heard, and valued. Together, we embrace our shared responsibility to promote harmony, equality, and a brighter future for all.

Land Acknowledgement
I would like to begin by acknowledging the Indigenous Peoples of all the lands that we are on today. Take a moment to acknowledge the importance of the land, which we each call home. We do this to reaffirm our commitment and responsibility in improving relationships between nations and to improving our own understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures.
From coast to coast to coast, we acknowledge the ancestral and unceded territory of all the Inuit, Métis, and First Nations people that call this nation home. Please join me in a moment of reflection to acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past and to consider how we can each, in our own way, move forward in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
