We Need Your Help
Our union is successful because we come together as a collective to help and support each other. In order to stay on target and accountable, we must ensure that we have a good set of rules and regulations to help guide how we manage our efforts. One way to stay accountable is through our OPSEU constitution. This is our binding collective agreement in which all local unions must follow. In addition, we wanted to enhance our ability to govern our local 649 members through an additional set of requirements adopted from local ByLaws.
This is where you come in. Please take a moment and review:
These are additional rules and regulations that the local 649 will adopt when governing on behalf of the members. It is important you have an opportunity to provide any and all feedback to the LEC in order to ensure that this document is balanced according to ALL members of the union.
We must have all feedback submitted no later than April 17, 2023. This will give the members of the LEC enough time to review the feedback and adopt any changes should the need arise. If anything needs to be discussed, we will post the changes and provide an opportunity to have a discussion and or review of the changes based on the members feedback.
Once all questions and feedback has been addressed, we will vote on the ByLaws at the next available General Membership Meeting (GMM). The date to be determined based on discussions, feedback, and concerns from our members.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
