Demand Set 2024 (OPS Unified)
A collective agreement demand set refers to a structured list of priorities, requests, or proposals put forward by a union or group of workers during negotiations with an employer or management. These demands are intended to outline the conditions, terms, and benefits that the union seeks to achieve on behalf of its members.
Wages and Benefits: Specific requests regarding pay scales, wage increases, bonuses, overtime rates, vacation allowances, health insurance, pensions, and other financial benefits.
Working Conditions: Proposals related to working hours, shifts, breaks, workplace safety measures, ergonomic standards, and measures to improve the overall working environment.
Job Security: Demands concerning job stability, layoff procedures, retraining opportunities, promotions, and career advancement.
Health and Safety: Requests for improved health and safety protocols, equipment, training, and measures to ensure a safe working environment.
Workload and Staffing: Proposals aimed at managing workload, establishing reasonable staffing levels, and addressing concerns related to work intensity and job demands.
Non-Monetary Benefits: Requests for improvements in non-monetary benefits such as flexible work arrangements, telecommuting options, childcare support, and other employee assistance programs.
Grievance Procedures: Suggestions for enhancing grievance procedures and dispute resolution mechanisms to address workplace issues effectively.
Phase 1 (Initial Survey)
This first survey for OPS Unified will aggregate the general demand priorities and provide a clearer sense of what members want regarding their collective agreement. Your insights and priorities will ensure that we advocate effectively for fair wages, improved working conditions, and benefits that reflect our dedication and contributions.
This survey requires your attention because it lays the groundwork for our negotiation strategy. Your input here will shape the demands we present and strengthen our position. Each subsequent survey will build upon this foundation, refining our approach.

More information will be provided when we learn more.
Phase 3 (Demand Set Finalization)
We have no information about the phase 3. However, it may not be required as we aggregate the data from the first two phases.
