Let’s tell the government: Enough is Enough! – OPSEU

Dear friends,

As a leader in our union and in your community, we wanted to make sure you’re aware of an important upcoming campaign. We are facing a cost-of-living crisis that affects every one of us, and right now we have an opportunity to come together and try to fix it.

We see the impact of the cost-of-living crisis at work, among union members, and in our communities. So many people are struggling to pay for food and housing, while big corporations rake in record profits. The rich are getting richer, and the rest of us are struggling to get by. Whether you are in a union or not, everyone deserves a life of dignity, and the current crisis is eroding that possibility.

That’s why OPSEU/SEFPO is joining the Ontario Federation of Labour to tell the government that Enough is Enough.

Enough low and stagnant wages; enough housing that no one can afford and sky-high grocery bills; enough blatant attacks on our public services; and enough from a government that chooses to spend billions to help their corporate buddies instead of saving our public health care system.

It’s time to take action.

On January 28th, people from across the province will come together to gain skills to get organized and build local campaigns, learn from leaders in the fight for decent work, climate justice, and more, and be a part of planning regional launches of the Enough is Enough campaign.

We are both signed up to attend, and invite you to join us.

You can sign up for the campaign on the OFL website. Make sure to email campaigns@opseu.org to let us know you’re joining the campaign.

We also encourage you to volunteer to be a facilitator – no experience is necessary, the OFL will provide training. If you do volunteer, please email campaigns@opseu.org to let us know.

We wanted to make sure that you, the leaders of OPSEU/SEFPO, have an opportunity to participate. This campaign matters to us, and we hope you’ll join us and hundreds of others who have signed up to tell the Ford government that Enough is Enough!

In solidarity,

JP Hornick, President, OPSEU/SEFPO

Laurie Nancekivell, First Vice-President/Treasurer, OPSEU/SEFPO
